Western Regional Director for the National Identification Authority, Enoch Benjamin Sackey, has announced plans to address the backlog of Ghana Cards in the region as some 2, 700 blank cards has been received.

According to Sackey, the NIA is set to print over 15,000 pending cards and distribute them within the next three weeks at both regional and district offices.

Speaking exclusively with our colleague Ebenezer Atiemo after meeting with Western Regional Minister Joseph Nelson, Sackey emphasize the authority’s commitment to improving identification services in the region.

However there are over 47,000 printed cards awaiting collection by their rightful owners which he said is a challenge to the authority.
